It includes rapper, Post Malone, actor and fellow Tenacious D member Kyle Glass, and Keegan-Michael Key. Melanie Says - This is on our to watch list for sure this year. It’s a fun rom-com where neighbors band together to save a small-town business. Britt Robertson is from Secret Circle, Under the Dome and Rookie Feds. Chad Michael Murray is from One Tree Hill, Agent Carter and Sullivan’s Crossing. They look adorable together. Some other familiar faces Marla Sokoloff (Full House/Fuller House, The Practice and Joey Tribiani's sister in Friends) Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors and even a few Christmas movies) and Beth Broderick (Sabrina the teenage witch, Lost, and Christmas movies). Melanie Says - This is one of the few new Christmas movies I have actually watched this year because Em came over and wanted to watch it. This has a pretty recognizable cast (although personally the main lead actress just didn't work for me or Em - and it's only reading Jenn's blurb I realize where I know her from). The movie was OK but definitely won't get added to my rewatch list. Em thought the movie needed a PG rating for "Sexual Suggestibility" - which I don't actually think is part of the movie rating scale BUT I will say that had they slapped a PG13 label on it I think it might have done better. I personally felt that the movie was a little confused. It wanted to have the Magic Mike feel but in a Hallmark setting. Merry Christmas Day 12 - Christmas at Plumhill Manor (2024)Jennifer Says - Nothing like getting a secret inheritance from a long-lost relative you never knew. This isn't just a sweet holiday romance but it has a touch of mystery as well. Maria Manounos is well known for her TV show hosting but has also been acting and even done some other Christmas movies. This film also has musical numbers and a rhyming dialog. The cast was another thing that made this film stand out. Gerard Butler from 300 and Bounty Hunter is St. Nick. Emilia Clark from Game of Thrones and Me Before You is the Red Queen. Simone Ashley from Bridgerton and Sex Education is Alice. This may have more appeal for kids, musicals, and fans of Alice and Wonderland. The song I like the best is the 12 Crimes of Christmas. . Merry Christmas Day 6 - An Almost Christmas Story (2024) Jennifer Says - An Almost Christmas Story may be one of the best, new Christmas films this year. This movie is a short sweet Christmas movie. I was able to watch it and It is visually stunning and made mostly from cardboard and paper with an almost monochromatic color palette. The story is all about friends and family. The cast is great. Merry Christmas Day 5 - The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (2024) Jennifer Says - This family Christmas movie is based on the book by Barbara Robinson. It was originally made into a film in 1983 and starred Loretta Swift and Fairuza Balk. This version stars Judy Greer from Married, Kidding, and Archer. This is a great book and the first movie was real cute, funny, and heartwarming. I anticipate this film will be just as good if not better. She is usually delightful, and silly, and usually makes fun Christmas movies. That and with the addition of Pentatonix was why I added this to my list. I did watch this one and it was fun. This stars Nikki Deloach, who is a familiar face on Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. She is in 10 Christmas movies and the Curious Carter movies. She is also in Awkward and North Shore. Warren Christie has been in a few Christmas movies including the romantic lead in The Most Wonderful Time of the Year with Brooke Burns and Henry Winkler. He was also in Alphas and Motive. I enjoy their Christmas movies and will always look out for both of them. Melanie Says - The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year is one of my all time favorite movies. Merry Christmas Day 30 - Silent Night (2023)Jennifer Says - On Christmas Eve, Father and son are caught in gang crossfire. Son is killed and father is wounded which costs him his voice. During the year while he recovers the father trains and prepares to avenge his son’s death on the following Christmas Eve. This movie is directed by John Woo, who also directed Face/Off and Mission Impossible II, and from the producers of John Wick. It stars Joel Kinnaman from The Killing, Altered Carbon, and Suicide Squad movies. This action flick may appeal to those who aren’t fans of most Christmas movies. It made my list because I have loved Kinnaman’s roles that I have seen him in. It looks to be a fast-paced thrill ride. Streaming Availability - This movie is currently showing in movie theaters. Merry Christmas Day 29 - Catch Me If You Claus (2003)Jennifer Says - Avery Quin wants to be a news anchor and finally gets an opportunity to try when she gets her shot the night before she is awakened by an intruder claiming to be Santa’s son, Chris. They end up on the run from criminals. Avery Quin is played by Italia Ricci from Designated Survivor and The Imperfects. Chris is played by Luke Macfarlane from Bros, Killjoys, and Brothers and Sisters. This made my list because of Luke Macfarlane. He is one of my favorite Christmas movie’s leading men and I loved him in Killjoys. The movie name nearly made me miss it but already watched it and loved it. Merry Christmas Day 28 - Your Christmas or Mine 2 (2023)Jennifer Says - Last year, Amazon Prime brought us their original Christmas movie Your Christmas or Mine. This Christmas Rom-Com gave us the story of a young couple, James and Hayley. They are heading home when they both decide to surprise the other and go to the other's home for the holidays. They find out things about the other and their family. This is such a funny flick. This year’s sequel finds them in a similar predicament. Can their relationship survive? James is played by Asa Butterfield who I first saw in Merlin but is also in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Hugo, and Sex Education. Hayley is played by Cora Kirk from Prey for the Devil, and After Everything. Also appearing are: David Bradley (from Harry Potter movies, Game of Thrones, and Doctor Who) Jan Kakowski (30 Rock, Ally McBeal, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) Daniel Mays (Bank Job and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) The cast in this does such a good job. Alicia’s Former Boss, Bobby is played by a real chef, Buddy Valastro from Kitchen Boss, Cake Boss, and Buddy vs. Christmas. This movie made the list because I love Tia Mowry Christmas Movies. John Brotherton from Fuller House, The Conjuring, and One Life to Live. Vincent Rodriguez III from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and With Love. This made the list because I am a fan of Good Witch and I like the fact that this has 3 couples at different stages of their lives. Merry Christmas Day 25 - Merry Little Batman (2023)Jennifer Says - Little Damian Wayne thinks he is big enough to start fighting crime. His dad doesn’t agree. Batman is called out by the Justice League on an emergency leaving Damian home alone. Joker and other villains start causing trouble and Little Batman tries to handle the situation on his own. This animated Holiday special stars the voice talents of some familiar faces. Batman/Bruce Wayne is voiced by Luke Wilson, who you may recognize from The Royal Tenenbaums, The Family Stone, and Stargirl. Damian Wayne is voiced by Yonas Kibreab from Sweet Tooth and Pretty Freaking Scary. Portraying Arthur is James Cromwell from Six Feet Under, Succession, and The Green Mile. Joker is played by Bruce Hornsby from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest, and Good Girl. This first caught my attention with the cute name and even cuter trailer. Merry Christmas Day 24 - Yuletide the Knot (2023)Jennifer Says - Wedding planner, Rachel, gets the opportunity that could make her career when she is hired to plan the wedding for two influencers. Then she meets their manager, logan, who happens to be her high school boyfriend. The influencers leave Rachel and Logan alone to plan their wedding. Rachel is played by Mary Antonini, who is from The Christmas Mission and The Breach. Logan is portrayed by Peter Porte. Porte is from Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, and Hallmark Movies. This isn’t Porte’s first Christmas movies and he is the reason this movie made my list. That and the clever name and idea that the influencers leaving to let others plan their wedding. Merry Christmas Day 23 - Ladies of the ’80s: A Diva Christmas (2023)Jennifer Says - Five well-known actresses from long-running soap opera, reunite to film the series last Christmas episode. While filming the ladies team up to play matchmaker with their director and producer. The film leads are actually big names from the 80s themselves. Lonie Anderson from WKRP and All Dogs Go to Heaven. Morgan Fairchild from Falcon Crest and her reoccurring role on Friends(as Chandler’s mom). Linda Gray from Dallas (both original and reboot). Donna Mills from Knots Landing and many Lifetime movies. Nicollette Sheridan from Knots Landing and Desperate Housewives. Fairchild, Mills, and Sheridan are not new to Christmas movies. This all-star cast looks to be a fun romantic comedy. For nostalgia alone, this made my list. Streaming Availability - Available with subscriptions or cable that includes the Lifetime channel.
