Day 30 - My Bloody Valentine (2009)
Dave Says -
Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) and Kerr Smith. I know this is a remake. I actually saw this one first and went back and watched the original. I was delighted by the changes made. It’s a bit of a mystery as the man returning to his hometown is suspected of a series of murders. When I picked up the original, I thought I knew the ending but then realized it had been changed. Melanie Says - This is one of those times when they actually do real justice with a remake. This hit our radar originally purely because Jensen Ackles was in it and Em was in her "We need to watch everything he does" phases- plus add in that this was a horror - and it was a must watch. I really enjoyed it. We have it (and several other random Jensen movies) as part of our collection lol. Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 29 - Hatchet (2006)
Dave Says -
Adam Green wrote and directed this. Have you been paying attention? I mentioned him before. Starring horror icons Kane Hodder and Tony Todd. Victor Crowley was killed by an accident but that isn’t the end. It never is. He keeps returning to the swamp where he was killed to continue his spree. Melanie Says - Wow some big names in there! You know what's coming next ..... Adding it to the list lol! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 28 - 2001 Maniacs (2005)
Dave Says -
Robert Englund. On the way to Florida, college students take a pit stop to detour in Georgia. What could go wrong? Well, I'm glad you asked! Everything! Melanie Says - Adding it to the ever growing list! I mean it has Freddy in it - what more is there to want lol Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 27 - The Hidden (1987)
Dave Says - Kyle MacLachlan. Before going to "Twin Peaks", Agent Cooper (ok, his name wasn’t really Cooper in this, but I'm calling him that anyway) was investigating a parasite that possessed average citizens and turned them into criminals. Hey, this could have been an episode of "Twin Peaks"! Melanie Says - OK you had me at Twin Peaks! How have I not seen this?! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 26 - House (1985)
Dave Says -
William Katt and George Wendt (Norm!). A writer inherits a house from his aunt so he moves in. Naturally, its haunted. What do you expect? Melanie Says - This is one of Greg's favorites! In fact a few years back when it wasn't available to stream we had to hit the stores to get a copy because he wanted Em to watch it THAT NIGHT! Definitely one to stream! If you haven’t seen it strap in for some great cheesy 80’s horror fun! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 25 - One Missed Call (2003) AKA Chakushin Ari
Dave Says -
I will stress this point- ORIGINAL JAPANESE VERSION. In the wake of The Ring’s success, another Japanese original that was remade, Hollywood decided that remaking a lot of J-horror was the new trend and kept failing. This was no exception. In 2008, they made a US version. It was ok but I believe this version is far more superior. The original was a trilogy and the US version tried incorporating parts of the sequels in the first movie. Anyway, a little about this one. You get a missed a call and listen to the message. It’s from you saying the final words you speak before you die. Melanie Says - Wow Dave you really put me to work trying to find this one. Hopefully I have the right details! I have found that a lot of the remakes of Japanese based original horror end up falling short. Usually the original is the way to go. This looks like one I would enjoy - Greg is not so keen on "reading" movies though! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 24 - Chopping Mall (1986)
Dave Says -
A bit cheesy but hey, what’s wrong with a little cheese? Isn’t it a great idea to hang out in a mall after its closed for a party, locked in there so no one can get in, with killer robots going berserk? Sounds like fun to me! Melanie Says - Like a cheesy Robocop at a mall! Even the trailer music makes it seem like a movie I need to watch! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 23- Idle Hands (1999)
Dave Says -
OK, I admit this one is playing a little fast and loose with the rules. But as I make my own rules; I’ll allow it. Is it horror? Is it a comedy? It can be both! Why not? Scream’s success may have broken some barriers, but part of the problem with this movie is the studio didn’t know how to market it. It had more humor than your average horror movie and more horror and gore than your average comedy. I don’t think the world was ready for it at the time. It has found a cult following over the last 20 years on video and DVD. Scream Factory just made a recent Blu-ray release loaded with some cool extras including a reunion commentary. I love me some commentaries! Melanie Says - Hmmmm I don't think I've seen this one either. I do like rules though - but as I agree with you're decisions I'LL ALLOW IT - and add it to my list lol Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 22 - The Faculty (1998)
Dave Says -
Kevin Williamson on the heels of his "Scream" success wrote the screenplay for this. Part horror, party sci-fi, all fun. New student shows up at school, and changes are afoot. A group of friends all have to dig deep to get to the bottom of it. Melanie Says - Definitely a movie that is well worth watching! I pretty much love everything that Kevin Williamson is involved with! Great choice Dave! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 21 - Happy Death Day (2017)
Dave Says -
OK, so this one isn’t as "little known" as the others, but I really enjoyed it. It’s one of those movies where the ending could make it or break it. They even came back with a sequel "Happy Death Day 2U" which went in a completely different, unexpected direction. It could have been a boring mistake, but they made it different and took some chances. Melanie Says - Oooh I saw this one! It was cute. I think Em wanted to watch it originally. Definitely not as out there as some of the others but has a bit of a "Scary Movie" meets "Groundhog Day" type vibe. Fans of the Supernatural episode "Mystery Spot" would enjoy it. Day 20 - Stitches (2012)
Dave Says -
Another comedy horror! What can I say - I like a little humor in my horror! A clown is accidently killed at a kid’s birthday party in mid routine, so he comes back years later to finish the act and get revenge on those that caused his death. Melanie Says - LMAO I think you are stuck in a 2012 loop Dave! Maybe I slept through 2012 because I don't think I've seen this either but you know it's going on the list! Day 18 - Cloned: The Recreator Chronicles (2012)
Dave Says -
Stella Maeve (The Magicians). Three teens find a secluded house and exact clones of themselves hell bent on killing the originals. Melanie Says - Ooooh she looks weird with blonde hair lol. I feel on some level I might have watched this as it sounds like my kind of movie! Adding it to the list! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 17 - Popcorn (1991)
Dave Says -
A movie theater hosting a marathon of vintage horror films is the perfect setting for a killing spree! Is it real or part of the show? Melanie Says - I feel like I might have seen this one back in the day! It did lead me to a new Horror Streaming app though - FlixFling which you can try for free for 7 days! Details below. Day 16 - The Task (2011)
Dave Says -
Remember the MTV show "Celebrity Paranormal Project"? Well, probably not, but this kinda reminds me of that. Reality show contestants are checking out a haunted prison and trying to survive the night. Melanie Says - Cheesy reality show where people die? Oh you KNOW I am watching this one lol!!! Day 15-Cry Wolf (2005)
Dave Says -
Lindy Booth (The Librarians) and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural). A group of friends spread rumors of a serial killer known as The Wolf. It’s all fun and games until the victims in these rumors really start turning up dead. Melanie Says - Huh - So I saw "wolf" and thought nope - but this might be OK. This must have been in the early Supernatural days. I know Jarad and Jensen put out a couple horror type things. Plus I do like Julian Morris - who isn't really well known in the US I don't think. Day 14- Kill Theory (2009)
Dave Says -
A sadistic game is being played by a maniac. When faced with survival, would you be able to kill? What if it was a friend you had to kill? Melanie Says - Hmmm well kill or be killed - I think we all know where I stand on that. I mean how close is the friend we are talking about? lol Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 13- . Terror in the Aisles (1984)
Dave Says -
This one is a bit different. I remember seeing it on VHS way back in the day and have been trying to track down a copy for a long time. It was a bonus feature on one of the Halloweens II (1981) Blu-ray releases, but it is now getting its own release via Scream Factory. It’s more of a documentary of clips from other films hosted by Donald Pleasance and Nancy Allen, but had a lot of great footage and talking about familiar tropes and horror scenes. Melanie Says - This is definitely something I want to watch. I love horror documertary type things but sadly I can't find this streaming anywhere so will have to add it to my Amazon wish list! Day 12 - April Fool’s Day (1986)
Dave Says -
From the makers of Friday the 13th, this movie is fantastic! I have watched it so many times! A weekend getaway, college kids, a horrible accident, dead bodies start to pile up! All the makings for a great slasher! Melanie Says - I feel like I've seen this - I mean it IS an 80's movie - but maybe not. It's going on the list to check with Greg lol Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 11- Stay Alive (2006)
Dave Says -
An online video game based on The Blood Countess is believed to kill people. When you die in the game, you die in real life the same way. One note to add about this movie is that the unrated directors add about fifteen minutes worth of material, so if you are faced with 2 versions, go with the unrated. In some cases, it’s only a matter of a few seconds of gore, etc, but this adds more characters, story, subplot, etc and well worth it. Melanie Says - So basically like early horror Jumanji! (Well the new version). OK I am down for that! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 10- Spirit Camp (2009)
Dave Says -
We have cheerleaders! We have cheerleaders that get killed! Whether you love em or hate em, this movie has something for you! Goth girl, Roxy Vandiver, is sent to cheerleading camp for punishment with a serial killer on the loose. Interesting sidenote: the movie's website offered a pair of signed prop panties by the star Roxy Vandiver saying "thanx for last night". Whoever find these in my drawer will be wondering why I have some strange girl’s panties! Melanie Says - OK so I am cracking up at the prop thing. Friday 13th meets Bring it On? You know I need to watch this now! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 9 - Suck (2009)
Dave Says -
Horror! Comedy! Music! Vampires! Rock stars! Alice Cooper, Alex Lifeson, Moby, Henry Rollins, and Iggy Pop are just a few cameos of this tale of a struggling rock band who finds instant success when one of them is turned in a vampire! Melanie Says - How have I never seen this?! Let us know what you think in the comments - Stream it or Skip it?

Day 8 - In the Mouth of Madness (1994)
Dave Says - Welcome to Hobb's End, where an investigator has to track down missing horror writer Sutter Cane. His disappearance seems to have a rather stranger effect on his fans. Directed by John Carpenter, it is a true masterpiece that is rarely mentioned by horror fans and is greatly overlooked. Melanie Says - This is one of my all time favorites and I definitely think it is highly overlooked. Reminiscent of some of the Lovecraftian influences, this is one of the first movies I remember where things are completely twisted but in a way that fans can really relate to. Sutter to me always seems very Stephen King like and I often wonder if this was a little dig by John Carpenter. Definitely a must watch movie from me! Great pick Dave! Day 7 - Chillerama (2011)
Dave Says -
Four tales make up this anthology film. Each set in a different time period for genre films-- 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. Each has its own feel to it. A little cheese, a little music, a little humor - Ok, a lot of humor. Look at the segment "The Diary of Anne Frankenstein" by the brilliant mind of Adam Green, writer of the Hatchet movies and "Holliston" tv series coming to Shudder (shameless plug!). Melanie Says - This looks hilarious! HA Shameless Plug for Shudder! I will put a Shameless link in case any on wants to sign up for it. Shudder has some great shows on there including Greg's favorite tooth guy (Channel Zero - Candle Cove), As well as original Horor Movies and TV Shows!
