Forbidden to attend the horror-themed Blood Fest and his ticket torn up, Dax finds a way into the sold-out event which may be a bad idea since it is attacked and becomes a pool of dead bodies. Fun for the whole family!

A special invite to a private showing of wax museum can not possibly sound like a good idea. Yeah, nothing fishy about that. A lot of blended horror and comedy as they are brought into the scenes the wax figures are portraying.

I LOVE this movie! Honestly, I almost talked about it in the Dracula piece, but because this movie has a LOT of characters I decided to wait and mention it here. This is a MUST WATCH from me! (Also does anyone else love the 80's Trailers? I mean they just don't make them like that anymore!)

This is definitely one I say watch! I have a fascination with Urban Legends and this movie didn't disappoint! I always thought based on this that Rebecca Gayheart would get launched into super stardom - she was real standout for me and totally striking! Loved it!

Oooh we watched this one and enjoyed it! Definitely a little twist on the regular slasher movie and if you like the genre in general then this is one for you!

This is another that is bending, breaking and shattering the rules. Probably more suspense than horror but I'm letting it slide even though Mels will kill me. After all, this is a horror thread, so she is allowed at least one murder, right? Anyway, it's kinda like a 21st century "Rear Window". A kid on house arrest making his own fun, spying on neighbors and thinks he sees a murder. But can he prove it? Shia LaBeouf. David Morris. Carrie-Anne Moss. Viola Davis. Some big names in this quickly forgotten film.

Day 17: Black Christmas (2006)

OK, I'm going with another remake of the 1974 film here. The original was directed by the guy that did "Porky’s". Ummm, I don’t see the connection here but sure. This is another one that I actually saw this version before the original. When I went back to watch the original, I saw there were a lot of changes. A few recognizable names here-- Michelle Trachenberg (Buffy), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Final Destination 3), Lacey Chabert (Party of Five), Katie Cassidy (Arrow). Escape psycho ward inmate stalks a sorority. Who is guarding the psych ward and why are there so many escapees? Btw, there was also 2019 version but I haven't seen that one yet.

This is one I have seen floating around but never actually gotten around to watching. Always happy to throw in a little Christmas with my horror, but I had seen the thing about Porky's too and thought meh lol. Maybe I will reconsider!

Something a little different Adam Green. This documentary (well, mockumentary really) delves into a film crew that are contacted by a man (Ray Wise) that claims he can prove that monsters are real.

So this reminds me a little of the premise that was used in The Taking of Deborah Logan which was filmed I believe at around the same time. Although in that they start with a regular documentary and devolve into the monster side, rather than starting with the idea of proving monsters are real. I haven't seen Digging Up The Marrow but think I might have to check it out!

Shannon Elizabeth, Matthew Lillard. Of course, if you inherit a house, you know it's going to be haunted. But this isn't just by one ghost. Yep, you guessed it! 13 of them! If you happen to get the DVD or Blu Ray, there is a cool featurette that outlines the story of each of the ghosts.

I love this movie! If you haven't seen it you should definitely check it out! I loved the extra little stories about the ghosts too - I wish they would add that to the streaming options but for now you can always catch them on YouTube! I have added that video along with the trailer so be sure to pop back and watch it after! (Or if you are all about the spoilers I guess you could watch it before lol)

Meh - It's a werewolf movie. As werewolf movies go this one isn't bad - but it is still a werewolf movie and I will ALWAYS pick ALL THE OTHER HORROR (Except ventriloquist dolls) over them lol

An unusual role for John Cusack. Samuel L. Jackson also stars. Based on a Stephen King short story. Do you need more reasons to watch? Cusack plays someone who normally debunks paranormal activity and gets a tip about room 1408 at the famed Dolphin Hotel. Things definitely do not go smoothly from there.

Day 8: I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006)

Everyone knows about "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and the sequel "I Still Know..." but when I when I stumbled upon this 3rd part of the series, I was curious but honestly not expecting much since it was a straight-to-video release. But I was pleasantly surprised. Its new characters add a new element to the movies but really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Melanie says -
This one to me is almost like a remake. It basically deals with a very similar plot to the first one and being so many years later it was obviously a money grab but it kinda works! After seeing the first one (and the second one) there probably aren't any real surprises - but then how many movies really surprise these days? I say check it out if you haven't seen it - especially as it is streaming free right now on Amazon Prime.
