Merry Christmas Day 7 - Christmas Island (2023)Jennifer Says - In Christmas Island, Kate is flying a family to Switzerland when her plane is diverted to Christmas Island, due to a storm. She has to work with Oliver at air traffic control to clear her flight and earn her job as the family’s personal pilot. Kate is played by Rachel Skarsten from Reign, Lost Girl, and last year’s The Royal Nanny. Andrew W. Walker plays the air traffic controller. Oliver. He was in last year’s hit, Three Wise Men and a Baby. Snowed-Inn Christmas, and a long list of other Christmas movies. This movie made the list because Andrew W. Walker is one of my favorites, so each year I look for his new Christmas movie. I love him in Snowed-Inn Christmas and makes it one of my favorite Christmas movies. Merry Christmas Day 6 - Mystery on Mistletoe Lane (2023)Jennifer Says - Hallmark Movies and Mysteries brings this Christmas movie that is more than just a rom-com or drama but a mystery as well. In Mystery on Mistletoe Lane, Heidi and her children move to a historic home and find a mystery. They enlist the help of their handyman to solve the mystery. Heidi is played by Erica Cera. She is known for her roles in Eureka, The 100, and Nancy Drew. The handyman, David is portrayed by Victor Webster. You may recognize him from Motherland: Fort Salem or his roles in many Hallmark movies and series. This made the list because I love a good mystery and a movie that isn’t predictable. Merry Christmas Day 5 - The Claus Family 3 (2022)Jennifer Says - This is a Belgium Christmas movie dubbed in English on Netflix. The series is an adorable family movie following the Claus family. It is a delightful series that comes with a different take on elves and how the job of being Santa works. In the first one Jules and his family move to a new town after his father had died. He hates Christmas but finds out his Grandfather is Santa Claus and must help him deliver Christmas in order to save the day. In the second installment. Jules has embraced Christmas and helping his grandfather. He receives a letter that touches him and wants to help the sender. Now in the third, Santa Claus/Grandpa is in trouble. Jules must team up with his younger sister Noor/Nora to help out Santa. Although the cast may not be familiar and the audio is dubbed, these are cute movies to watch with the kids. Merry Christmas Day 4 - Never Been Chris’d (2023)Jennifer Says - Hallmark may win the award for Most Ridiculous Movie Name this year. Never Been Chris’d follows BFFs and company co-founders, Naomi and Liz, as they return home for the holidays and run into their high school crush, Chris. Naomi is played by Janel Parrish who you may recognize from Pretty Little Liars and Hallmark movies. Liz who is a relative newcomer only has a few credits. Chris is played by the ruggedly handsome, Tyler Hines who is another Hallmark favorite who was in last year’s Three Wise Men and a Baby and is also in Letterkenny. This made the list despite the name but due solely to the fact that Tyler Hines is in it. The love triangle isn’t new in Christmas movies. This is more of a Christmas movie about the two friends and their relationships with their family and each other. It was a nice movie that wasn’t as predictable as some Christmas movies can be. Merry Christmas Day 3 - How To Fall In Love By The HolidaysJennifer Says - This year The Roku Channel is a new edition and is offering 2 new Christmas movies both starring Teri Hatcher. The first one on our list is How to Fall in Love by Christmas. (Note from Melanie - This has been renamed How To Fall In Love With The Holidays since Jenn wrote the article). This is the story of Nora, a writer with a lifestyle brand. To save her company she must write a column about how to fall in love by Christmas with the help of photographer, Jack. Nora is played by Hatcher who is known for Lois and Clark and Desperate Housewives. Jack is portrayed by Dan Payne who you may have seen in Crank Yankers, Good Witch, and Hallmark movies. I am excited about this movie because of Teri Hatcher first of all. Her characters are also super likable and relatable. Also, there aren’t as many movies that have a lead romantic character that isn’t young adults. It is nice to see variety in ages in Christmas movies. Merry Christmas Day 2 - Joyeux Noel (2023)Jennifer Says - Joyeux Noel follows two reporters covering a holiday painting and the mystery behind the couple behind the photo. The mystery leads them to France and a Christmas Market, the perfect setting for romance. The romanticizing, optimistic copy editor who wants her big break as a reporter is played by Jaicy Elliot you may recognize from Gray’s Anatomy. The grumpy, jaded journalist is played by Brandt Daughtry who was in Pretty Little Liars and other Hallmark movies. This made my list since the actors have been in other Christmas movies I enjoyed. Particularly Jaicy from My Southern Family Christmas and Brandt from A Christmas Movie Christmas. I also love the fact that Jaicy is not a tall size 0, she is beautiful but is curvy, and on the shorter side which isn’t seen enough in romantic movie leads. This was enjoyable. It highlighted French Christmas customs and the mystery and love story is sweet. IMDB gave it 6.2 out of 10 Stars. Merry Christmas Day 1 - Ms. Christmas Comes to Town (2023)Jennifer Says - This Hallmark Movies and Mysteries movie was released in October is a sweet and romantic holiday flick. It follows a shopping channel host touring across the country for her final season. The host, Gale, is portrayed by Barbara Nevin from Chesapeake Shores and Evergreen Christmas movie series. Gale’s protege, Amanda is played by Erica Durance who was Smallville’s Lois Lane, in Saving Hope and many Hallmark Christmas movies. Gale’s nurse, Travis, is played by the charming Brennan Elliot who is in the series Cedar Grove, Unreal, and a long list of Hallmark movies. Another actor you may also recognize is the adorable Chris Gauthier who always makes an impression in his many roles. The reason this made my list was primarily the cast. In Christmas movies, I have my favorites and like to watch all their movies. Erica Durance is one of my favorite leads. Having seen it already I recommend it as a feel-good movie with all the elements we want in a Christmas movie. IMDB gives it 6.9/10 stars.
