 Bonus Day - Get Him Back For Christmas (2024)​ 

Jennifer Says - 
This movie stars Alexa PenaVega as Bella.  Alexa PenaVega is known from her Spy Kids movies and her real life husband Carlos PenaVega from Big Time Rush as Jack.  This is not the first time both PenaVega’s have acted together and not even the first Christmas movie they have done together.  They do make a cute couple real or fictional.

Jennifer Says - 
Jennifer Love Hewitt stars in this Christmas movie.  You might know her from Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and 911.  This also stars Brian Hallisay who stared with JLH in The Client List and had a guess run on 911.  In this movie, Hewitt’s character is getting over the loss of her mother and trying to find love.   (Note - the leads in this are also married).

​​​Day 23 - Cherry Lane Sequels (2024)​ 

​Jennifer Says - 
In 2023 Hallmark debuted Christmas on Cherry Lane.  This movie shows 3 families, through the years, celebrating the holidays on the same street.  It was such a big hit it spun off not just one sequel but 3.  All the Cherry Lane movies cover different timelines at the different Cherry Lane homes.

SEQUEL 1 - Season's Greetings from Cherry Lane

Jonathan Bennett is becoming quite a name on Hallmark but you might remember him from Mean Girls.  Playing opposite Bennet is Vincent Rodriguez III from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and With Love.  They are dads to their adopted daughter.  
SEQUEL 2 - Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane

This stars Catherine Bell from Good Witch, Army Wives, and JAG, alongside James Denton from Good Witch, Desperate Housewives, and The Pretender.  This has many other familiar faces from Hallmark movies as well.  They are a newlywed couple with her young adult children.  

SEQUEL 3 -Deck The Halls on Cherry Lane

This movie stars Erin Cahill known from Power Rangers and many Hallmark movies alongside John Brotherton from One Life to Live, Fuller House and many Hallmark movies as well.  They play new parents and the most recent to move to Cherry Lane.

​​​Day 22 -Brewster's Millions: Christmas (2024)​ 

Jennifer Says - 
This is a movie sequel to 1985 Brewster’s Millions.  The original starred the late Richard Pryor and John Candy.  In the original Brewster’s Millions, Brewster, (played by Pryor) inherits 300 Million but has to spend 30 million in 3 days without owning assets or telling anyone of his deal to get the movie.  This movie stars China McClain (A.N.T. Farm, Descendants, & House of Pain), her sister Sierra McClain (911 Lone Star & Empire), and Telma Hopkins (Gimme a Break & Family Matters).  Also appearing will be children of the late Richard Pryor- Rain and Richard Pryor Jr.  I am hoping this lives up to the original.

Vivica  Fox and Jackee Harry together, have been in over 3 dozen Christmas movies.  Fox is also known for Kill Bill and Empire while Jackee Harry is also known for 227 and Sister, Sister.  With both actresses playing competitors it should be a fun Christmas movie.

This one made the list because of the leads are favorites.  Wes Brown is a Hallmark favorite he is from many Hallmark movies (including Haul out the Holly movies) and True Blood.  Ashley Green is from Rogue and of course the Twilight movies.  If you were a True Blood fan you will also recognize Carolyn Hennesey and Lindsay Pulsipher. This is a cute movie with a heart.

​Jennifer Says - 
At first glance, I thought this might just be a comedy but after watching it, it is much more.  It is a sweet but funny story of a family who is getting over the loss of family members before Christmas.  Stars Ben Stiller (Zoolander and Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and Linda Cardellini ( Freaks and Geeks and Scooby-Doo live-action movies), but the children really steal the show.

If you have watched Hallmark Christmas movies for a while, you are probably familiar with other Debbie Macomber Christmas movies, especially the Miracle ones.  This is the latest of the Miracle movies, which are feel-good movies with a romantic aspect as well. This time, Mrs. Miracle is played by Rachel Boston from In Plain Site, Witches of East End, and many Hallmark movies.  It also stars, Tanner Novlan, from Bold and the Beautiful and Roswell, New Mexico.

This, over the top, Christmas comedy is fun for the whole family. Jack Black makes this movie fun. It is like his role in House of Rock. It includes rapper, Post Malone, actor and fellow Tenacious D member Kyle Glass, and Keegan-Michael Key.

This is on our to watch list for sure this year. We LOVE Jack Black and the whole premise looks ridiculous and awesome!

​Day 13 - The Merry Gentlemen (2024)​ 

​Jennifer Says - 
 This is a holiday movie with a little beefcake.  It’s a fun rom-com where neighbors band together to save a small-town business.  Britt Robertson is from Secret Circle, Under the Dome and Rookie Feds.  Chad Michael Murray is from One Tree Hill, Agent Carter and Sullivan’s Crossing.  They look adorable together.  Some other familiar faces Marla Sokoloff (Full House/Fuller House, The Practice and Joey Tribiani's sister in Friends) Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors and even a few Christmas movies) and Beth Broderick (Sabrina the teenage witch, Lost, and Christmas movies). 
 
Melanie Says - 
 This is one of the few new Christmas movies I have actually watched this year because Em came over and wanted to watch it. This has a pretty recognizable cast (although personally the main lead actress just didn't work for me or Em - and it's only reading Jenn's blurb I realize where I know her from).  The movie was OK but definitely won't get added to my rewatch list. Em thought the movie needed a PG rating for "Sexual Suggestibility" - which I don't actually think is part of the movie rating scale BUT I will say that had they slapped a PG13 label on it I think it might have done better. I personally felt that the movie was a little confused. It wanted to have the Magic Mike feel but in a Hallmark setting.

Nothing like getting a secret inheritance from a long-lost relative you never knew. This isn't just a sweet holiday romance but it has a touch of mystery as well. Maria Manounos is well known for her TV show hosting but has also been acting and even done some other Christmas movies.  She is lovely and even has a lovelier voice.  I could listen to her recite the phone book.

Jennifer Says - 
This movie is like a holiday version of The Amazing Race.  The stars are some of my holiday favorites.   Ashley Williams from How I Met Your Mother and over a dozen Christmas movies including Snow and Snow 2: Brain Freeze.  Andrew W Walker is my favorite Christmas movie leading man with 15 Christmas movie credits on his resume plus tons of other Hallmark movies as well.

​Day 9 -  Red One (2024)​ 

This is a star studded holiday blockbuster. With such big names and special effects this could be good but big budget doesn’t always mean quality.  It’s a action adventure comedy holiday feature with top Hollywood names and award winners.  I am hoping this will add some fun new aspects to the lore of Santa and the North Pole.   ​

Jennifer Says - 
This is a cute romantic comedy about stress with meeting the future inlaws, meshing cultures, and compromise.  Asha is played by Anuja Joshi from The Resident.  Jake is portrayed by Benjamin Hollingsworth from Virgin River, Code Black, and many Hallmark movies.  Oh and it has a cute dance moment. ​  .  ​

Day 7 -  The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland (2024)​ 

Jennifer Says - 
This animated Christmas special has a unique animation style.  This film also has musical numbers and a rhyming dialog.  The cast was another thing that made this film stand out.  Gerard Butler from 300 and Bounty Hunter is St. Nick.  Emilia Clark from Game of Thrones and Me Before You is the Red Queen.  Simone Ashley from Bridgerton and Sex Education is Alice.  This may have more appeal for kids, musicals, and fans of Alice and Wonderland.  The song I like the best is the 12 Crimes of Christmas.  .  ​

Day 6 -  An Almost Christmas Story (2024)​ ​

Jennifer Says - 
An Almost Christmas Story may be one of the best, new Christmas films this year.  This movie is a short sweet Christmas movie.  I was able to watch it and It is visually stunning and made mostly from cardboard and paper with an almost monochromatic color palette.  The story is all about friends and family.  The cast is great. There is even handicap representation.  This is great for all ages.  I see awards in the future for this film.

Day 5 -  The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (2024)​ ​

Jennifer Says - 
This family Christmas movie is based on the book by Barbara Robinson.  It was originally made into a film in 1983 and starred Loretta Swift and Fairuza Balk.  This version stars Judy Greer from Married, Kidding, and Archer.  This is a great book and the first movie was real cute, funny, and heartwarming.  I anticipate this film will be just as good if not better.   I recommend it for families who enjoy Home Alone or have ever been involved in a Christmas pageant or nativity play.

Day 4 -  A Sudden Case Of Christmas (2024)​ ​

This all-star cast makes for a promising Christmas movie.  The fact that Danny Devito and his daughter Lucy are together should be a fun dynamic.  That and a daughter trying to get her parents back together should make it a fun family watch.

The sole reason I have this one on the list is due to the reunion of Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick who were on Sabrina the Teenage Witch as Sabrina’s Aunts. This time they are meddling mothers.  I feel this one will be funny Christmas movie.

Day 3 -  Meet Me At Christmas (2024)​ ​

Jennifer Says - 
Christina Milian is in a few ABC Family Christmas movies: Snowglobe, Christmas Cupid, and A Snowglobe Christmas.  She is usually delightful, and silly, and usually makes fun Christmas movies.  That and with the addition of Pentatonix was why I added this to my list.  I did watch this one and it was fun.  Plus Pentatonix poked fun at themselves and their fame.
