Jenn - Jennifer Rhodes met Melanie back when True Blood was popular and they have been friends ever since. She loves TV (especially things that make you smile), Doctor Who, Finding new shows, and regularly provides awesome fandom items for Muser Giveaways. Jennifer is now a proud member of the VIPers - the Melanie's Muses Spotlight Feature Team! This sequel is maybe a decade or more in the making and that’s "A Christmas Story Christmas", with the original cast returning along with some new faces. I was skeptical about this sequel but a bit excited as well and boy I was not disappointed. This movie takes Ralphie all grown up and with a family of his own, but this Christmas he gets something no one expected, the loss of his father, which I can relate to at the moment. So heading back to his childhood home with his family, he sets out to help his mom and to give his kids the best Christmas they could possibly ask for, which like the first movie it ends up getting a bit crazy. There’s even call backs to the original movie which I loved. This was a joy and I’ll happily add it to my Christmas must watch list.
Dave - Dave Christy loves horror, music, documentaries and more. He is also the co-runner of several fan based groups including Morningstars (THE Lucifer fan group also run by Melanie), and now is a member of the VIPers Spotlight Lounge team for Melanie's Muses. Other than "In The Spotlight" Features -check out his "31 Days Of Halloween Movies"The legend of krampus dates way back to obscure beginnings. Some say the spoken word goes back to the 6th century. The written word started around the 17th century. I don’t remember hearing much about it until more recently. The last 10-15 years have incorporated Krampus into pop culture much more. TV shows like “Grimm”, and several movies like “Slay Belles” and “Krampus” (2015) showcase this. Jenn - Jennifer Rhodes met Melanie back when True Blood was popular and they have been friends ever since. She loves TV (especially things that make you smile), Doctor Who, Finding new shows, and regularly provides awesome fandom items for Muser Giveaways. Jennifer is now a proud member of the VIPers - the Melanie's Muses Spotlight Feature Team!We all know the legend of Santa Claus. Krampus is a legend that some may not know, some might but he’s usually more mentioned in other countries. Krampus is totally opposite of old St Nick. He goes too see the bad kids and usually with switches never harming them though. Well this movie about Krampus takes a horror turn and this family ends up not being so lucky. By the end of the movie you’re thinking maybe that kid shouldn’t been such of a brat and they should of just left that snow globe alone. Wishes are never a good thing, don’t know what I mean? Well go check out this newer movie version of Krampus and you just might. Melanie - I do enjoy a bit of the darker lore and I do love that like Dave said, it is popping up more in general culture. He mentioned Grimm but my fav was in Supernatural lol. Fun fact - the kid that appeared in that episode is also in one of my favorite Christmas movies "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" - which also plays at the beginning of this trailer! Jennifer is now a proud member of the VIPers - the Melanie's Muses Spotlight Feature Team!Everyone should know that I love nutcrackers by now. They’re just so adorable to me and I’ve even seen the ballet which is absolutely beautiful. So why did I never know this movie existed until just now. "A Very Nutty Christmas" is actually about a nutcracker coming to life just when this bakery owner may need a little Christmas magic the most. He teaches her that maybe the holidays are not so bad and she should just possibly enjoy them in a way she hasn’t before. He even stayed and protected her from the mouse king when she told him to go. I might have yelled are you crazy at the screen. When you get a Christmas miracle, you don’t just throw that away, especially if he’s in nutcracker form. This movie is just sweet and it just enforces why I love nutcrackers and the story behind them. I think we could all use a little protection from whatever form of mouse king we’re facing. So if you haven’t seen this movie than I highly suggest that you do. Melanie - What's not to love about a little Nutcracker magic? Greg and I actually started collecting them a few years back and we try and get one unusual one a year. Pics below include Jenn's collection, and then a couple of my favs from ours. Above - Jenn's Collection - Below a couple of Melanie's favorites.

Don’t you wish sometimes you could go on a vacation instead. Just you and your significant other. Well in "Four Christmases" that’s exactly what they try and do. Well, that is until they’re caught at the airport because of a snowstorm and then seen on the news by their families. Yikes! So instead of their Caribbean vacation they’re off to four different Christmases, hence the title. How does this turn out for this couple who’d rather not be anywhere near their families for the holidays? Well watch and find out because "Four Christmases" is definitely a underrated Christmas gem and it’s always on my must watch list around this time of year, or honestly anytime it’s on. Melanie - Em is a huge Vince Vaughn fan for some reason and so we ended up watching this because he was in it and it fast became one of her favorites. For some reason it isn't one that is streaming a lot of the time so we hunted down the DVD so that Em doesn't have to stress. It's crazy, definitely not your average Christmas movie, but it does seem to work. So while it will never top my list of movies to watch at Christmas, we will probably always end up watching it because it does top Em's. Have you ever wondered what you’d do or how you’d react if you where told that you only had a few weeks to live? Well this holiday movie sort of explores that. But don’t worry I promise it’s not sad. "Last Holiday" has to be one of my favorite Christmas movies and Queen Latifah in it is phenomenal.
This story about an ordinary woman finding out she has only a few weeks to live is one not to be missed. Deciding she’s had enough of not speaking up or just enjoying life, she quits her job and goes on the Christmas vacation of her dreams. As she steps out of her shell, not only does she realize she’s changing her life for the better, but maybe the lives of those around her as well. Trust me once you see this movie, it will definitely be added to your holiday must watch list.

Melanie -
I actually had this one in my 25 Magical Movies a few years back. Now before you think I have lost my mind and posted a tear-jerker I can assure you that won't ever happen! I don't want to watch sad movies in my Christmas line up and would never suggest one for anyone else.
I will admit, I have avoided this movie ever since I first saw the trailer. Diagnosed with a terminal illness right around Christmas, for me there was NO way that was going to have a happy ending, but I was wrong! (And I don't count a "she did everything she wanted to before she died as happy either")!
Em has been nagging and nagging me to watch this movie, literally for years, and eventually she had to promise me it would NOT make me cry, which I was dubious about, BUT IT DIDN'T!
This movie is GREAT! Don't let the title put you off, and the trailer shows some great clips, but let me assure you THERE WERE NO TEARS!!

Characters in shows or movies. We either hate them or love 'em and this character I want to shine a light on is one that I absolutely adore to the moon and back, almost as much as I do Harley Quinn and that’s saying something.
Wednesday Addams is just one that if you don’t like then there must be something wrong with you because she has it all. Sometimes I wish I could be like her, not in the kooky way but just how she’s not afraid of anything and honestly she could care less what others think. She also stands up for what she believes in, not backing down, especially in the new Netflix series "Wednesday".
I was a little skeptical about Jenna Ortega taking over the role of this iconic character because if I’m being honest no one does it like Christina Ricci, but boy Jenna proved me wrong and I’m glad that she did. I’m also glad I watched this series even though at first I wasn’t too sure. But the cast won me over, though I may still need a little convincing about Gomez. If you adore the character of Wednesday like I do, then this show is not to be missed because my girl finally gets the spotlight that she’s always deserved.

I've been an "Addams Family" fan since my childhood, watching the syndicated 1960's series. So I was interested when I first heard about the new Netflix series although I wasn't exactly sure what they'd do with it. The first season is only 8 episodes, around 45 minutes each so you can get through it pretty quick on a day off. Sprinkling in a few callbacks, its sure to bring a smile to a fans face.
But some aspects of the story invent new sides to Wednesday. Not really a spoiler since its only about a minute into the series premiere, but Wednesday has a vision. She's never had visions before and the series relies on them heavily. That being said, thats one of the very few gripes I have with the series. A few cliches thrown in and a bit of forced "dark" dialogue from Gomez aside, it was a well rounded story and a bit of a mystery as well. Lots of evidence and clues pointing at essentially the entire cast and Wednesday has to narrow it all down.
If we learn anything, the cops in these towns don't really know alot and quick to find other culprits even with no evidence. So if you want to enter the world of "Wednesday", all you have to do is snap your fingers twice.

Melanie - Just wanted to add that having watched the trailer I was very much on the fence about whether or not I was going to watch it. But now it has been added to my "to Watch List". Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.
Jennifer Bollnow -Jennifer is TVaholic with no possibility or desire to rehab. She met Melanie when they worked together on the former Voice of TV website. She especially loves sci-fi, fantasy, Christmas movies and anything with Patrick Swayze. She loves helping people find their new favorite series
The modern Christmas trees originated in 16th century Germany although the practice of bringing in evergreen boughs dates as far back as ancient Egyptians. Trees were decorated with Fruit and nuts. German immigrants brought this tradition with them around the globe. Paintings of Queen Victoria's Christmas Trees started making the trend more popular world wide. In late 1800's, department stores started selling imported Christmas Ornaments. Today Christmas ornaments are a multi- billion dollar industry.
This year, Musers will have a Christmas Ornament exchange. The ornaments can be store bought or homemade. Ornament cost should not exceed $10. Each person will be responsible for shipping costs (Keep in mind Musers live all over US and other countries) This exchange is open to all Musers and the entry form even has a question about just how Christmassy you are, so person who has your name can keep that in mind.
Sign up will be closed Sunday, December 4th at 11:59pm. Names will be drawn Monday, December 5th and you will get a message with your person and their info. Please keep in mind shipping can take longer this time of year but ensure all ornaments are mailed by December 16th. Please send Melanie Muses a pic of your ornament and who it was from so we can share on a post.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or Bah Humbug (whatever you prefer)!
