He has a long, storied history going back to 1936 when he appeared in children's books and started appearing in cartoons in 1945. Even though there’s a lot of Casper movies out there I’m talking about the best one, the 1995 "Casper" with the one and only Christina Ricci as Kat. She’s really good at those darker character roles I’ve noticed. 'Casper' is basically about a haunted castle, and when I say castle that’s what I mean. I’d live there, but back to the plot though I’m sure you have already seen this Halloween classic. Woman thinks she can find treasure in this house, but doesn’t expect Casper or his three uncles- Fatso, Stinky and Stretch. Casper is the friendly one, but his uncles not so much. The doctor and his daughter Kat move into this house, with a little help from Casper. You could say he has a crush but that’s when everything goes haywire. I love Casper but to me his uncles steal the show, especially when they learn to like these two meat sacks that have invaded their territory. How does everything end? Well you know me all I’ll say is go watch because trust me when you do, Casper will definitely be added to your Halloween watch list. Melanie - Casper is definitely one of those movies everyone should watch at least once and I agree with Jenn that if you wanna pick one version to watch this is the one to watch. Super cute for Halloween, or you know any time you want a little ghostly goings on! ** NOTE - THERE ARE NO PINEAPPLE CODE WORDS THIS WEEK AS WE HAVE THE MUSERWEEN SHOW SUNDAY** And Now For The GiveawayMelanie's Muses will be giving away a "Casper" prize pack containing a 3 movie Casper DVD collection from Jenn, a Black Sparkly Bow Hair Tie from Vicky, and the mini novella paperback of Haunting Zoe and a mini Ghost Squishie toy from the Melanie's Muses Prize Hoard. Basic Info
Standalone or series? Book 15 in the Guild Hunter Series (You DO need to have read the previous ones) Category Paranormal and Urban Fantasy Official Blurb About The Book (From the Amazon Page) New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh takes us into the dangerous, haunting world of archangels . . . and a love that is legend. For thousands of years, the passion between Alexander, Archangel of Persia, and Zanaya, Queen of the Nile, burned furious and bright, seemingly without end. But to be an archangel is to be bound to power violent and demanding. Driven by its primal energy, Alexander and Zanaya fought as fiercely as they loved, locked in an endless cycle of devotion and heartbreak. It is only Zanaya’s decision to Sleep that ends their love story. Eons later, the Cascade of Death wakens them both. The passion between them a flame that yet burns, Alexander and Zanaya stand together in one last battle against the ultimate darkness. But even a warrior archangel cannot win every war. Alexander’s scream shatters the world as Zanaya falls, broken and silent . . . only to rise again in a miracle that may be a devastating curse. For is it truly the Queen of the Nile who has been resurrected? Only one thing is clear: This is the last beat of their passionate, angry dance. The final song for Alexander and his Zani . . . How did I get this book? Melanie knew I was a big fan of Nalini's books, so she managed to get me an ARC copy, since my paperback will be arriving in Ireland on Thursday and I will not be back home until December! Why did I choose to read this book: I'm a huge fan of Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series and her Psy/Changeling books too! And Now To The Review! First Impressions: It took me a little time to get stuck into the book, not because it wasn't good, but because Archangel Alexander wasn't a character that I had previously wanted to get to know more outside of what we saw in previous Guild Hunter Novels. You get a lot of history, which I loved seeing from the older members of the Cadre. General Review Despite my slow introduction to Alexander and Zanaya's turbulent romance that spans eons and eons, I was soon emersed in a world that I love and getting to know the two characters who were both as unrelenting and sometimes stubborn to their own determent. The love and passion between the two Archangels was combustible from the very first eye contact. But while their love was evident, this book shows that sometimes, love isn't enough, and while they always managed to find their way back to one another, Alexander and Zanaya, two powerful, warrior angels who do not bow and do not bend, may be their own worst enemies on the path to each other. My favorite part of the book was seeing other fave characters from the series in the eyes of different characters. We also get to see a lot of Archangels who are already ancients when we meet them as younger angels, before their ascension, or get to see some angels as children which was awesome! Final Thoughts If you like paranormal romance books featuring Archangel's, angels and vampires, then you should check out the Guild Hunter Series, starting with book one, Angel's Blood for Angel's, Vampire's, Vampire hunters and Much much more! Rating An Easy 5 stars from me and definitely Susan from Melanie's Muses Approved! lol ** NOTE - THERE ARE NO PINEAPPLE CODE WORDS THIS WEEK AS WE HAVE THE MUSERWEEN SHOW SUNDAY** ** Disclosure** Any Links To Buy On Amazon Are My Amazon Affiliate Links. Well this movie may make you think twice about saying yes, and that movie is "The Ring". Though Mels may like this movie because creepy girl, she’s not a doll but still definitely creepy. I mean I’d run if I saw her. I’m sure a lot of musers have seen this movie or at least heard about it, and yes there is a sequel but honestly I don’t remember if I even saw that one. So back to the first. Woman finds tape, watches it then right after gets a mysterious phone call saying she has seven days to live. Ok so then starts her hunt on what this tape actually is and who exactly is the girl in it. Does she find out? Does she even live? Well, I could tell you but I won’t so just go figure it out for yourselves by watching. It can get a bit cheesy at times but overall it’s not bad. And the girl in it kind of reminds me of the girl in "The Grudge" but that’s a movie for another time. Melanie - Ooooh the first one of these was good. Lots of twists and turns and although no Creepy Doll - definitely a creepy girl! This is one of the few movies that actually had me saying "WOW that effect is SO kewl!" It was right when lots of Japanese movies were getting the American treatment, although as with many, the original Japanese version is definitely creepier. As for The Ring 2 - I am sure I saw the second one but don't really remember it, and it definitely didn't have the same wow factor as the first but they did sort of round out the trilogy in 2017 with "Rings" - which was OK but again failed to wow. Oh and yes, I would DEFINITELY watch the tape! Dave - Dave Christy loves horror, music, documentaries and more. He is also the co-runner of several fan based groups including Morningstars (THE Lucifer fan group also run by Melanie), and now is a member of the VIPers Spotlight Lounge team for Melanie's Muses. Other than "In The Spotlight" Features -check out his "31 Days Of Halloween Movies"In the late 90’s and early 2000’s Japanese horror was at its peak with films like “Ringu” and “Ju-On” and more. So it's only natural that America would start to remake them for the U.S. moviegoer. So in 2002, we got “The Ring” and the success of that catapulted the Japanese remake phase, along with the sequels that came with them until one wasn’t good enough and killed the remake phase this time around. “The Ring Two” was released 3 years later and failed to live up the popularity of its predecessor. The box office dollars were there but mostly negative reviews poured in. Ultimately, it wasn’t a bad movie but was nowhere near as good as the first. The sequel curse strikes again as we try to dig a little deeper into Samara’s past. Catching lightning in a bottle once is hard enough. Trying to do it twice is damn near impossible. I get the feeling they were hoping for a franchise or at least a trilogy. I guess the bad feedback killed that on the spot. Best to cut out while still somewhat ahead and not sink the title further down the rabbit hole of oblivion. The Pineapple Code Word For This Article Is Ring

Jennifer is now a proud member of the VIPers - the Melanie's Muses Spotlight Feature Team!Flipping through the channels, I just happened to land on "Trick r Treat" and thought I'm not huge on horror but why not as it seems to have a popular character in Sam. Until I was actually watching it, I didn’t realize it was an anthology until about half way through and I was like what?! Dead kids, Sam and then weres and vampires. How does this all make sense but in the end it does. And boy what an ending! I also even found myself rooting for Sam. I mean-- 1) I’m a Halloween freak and 2) they’re not hard rules to follow, though number one I haven’t done in awhile, but I miss dressing up. Passing out candy I’ve done every year since moving into a neighborhood and I really enjoy it and three-- who blows out a Jack o lantern before Halloween is over anyways? So wrong! And check your candy is always a must. His bonus rules are also easy to follow. Like I said, just follow them and you’re fine. I actually think he was my favorite part of the entire movie, especially when you get to see him unmasked. He almost looked like a pumpkin skeleton to me with it off. Also, shooting him? Come on, like that ever works! Well, like I said I was really surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did and I’m sure musers have already seen "Trick r Treat", but if not this is the month for spooky and weird so what are you waiting for? Go watch. Melanie - This is definitely one of my favorite, underrated anthology movies. 4 short stories packed with stars that you'll recognize but before they really hit it big. I've noticed way more merchandise to go with the franchise this year so maybe this cult favorite has somehow broken into the mainstream. Whatever the case I recommend watching it - it's a good bit of "Halloween fun" with unexpected and clever twists that leave the audience feeling very satisfied (well if you like a bit of horror. If you want everything happy with a big red bow this might not be for you). Dave - Dave Christy loves horror, music, documentaries and more. He is also the co-runner of several fan based groups including Morningstars (THE Lucifer fan group also run by Melanie), and now is a member of the VIPers Spotlight Lounge team for Melanie's Muses. Other than "In The Spotlight" Features -check out his "31 Days Of Halloween Movies"I've been adding this to my 31 Days of Horror for longer than I've been here. I always put them on my FB page. It has become an annual Halloween viewing. The stories are pretty much stand alone but also woven together. All in the same town, on the same night. (Of course!) Those paying close attention to the background can spot characters from the other stories. A few deleted scenes from the blu ray disc enhance the viewing experience. So much so, that I actually made my own extended cut of the movie. Yes, I'm that much of a dork. Pushing even further, I noticed a mistake in the editing. There must have been alternate footage of the party scene near the end for the television version. One scene has a girl smoking a joint then she turns around and has a beer. Definitely a treat to become a yearly tradition to put a little spook in your Halloween season. Even if you’ve seen many retellings through movies, this one I’m not so sure you have seen because it takes the story of Romeo and Juliet and turns it on it’s head using leprechauns and fairies. Yes there’s still two warring families and a ball where the lovebirds meet. Oh, and the world is coming to an end apparently because with the fairies and leprechauns fighting it definitely can’t be good on nature. “The magical land of the leprechauns” is definitely a Romeo and Juliet story that you do not want to miss and it’s free on prime so honestly what beats that. I won’t say much more except this has to be one of my favorite adaptions of the story because as you know musers I definitely like different and this movie is that.
