Can you believe this is the 4th year of 31 Days of Halloween? This year I am taking the reins with some help from Susan Harris. Things might look a little different but I guarantee one thing - Lots of "different" Halloween options! Day 6 - The Pilgrimage (2017)Susan Says - Listen, I'm not much of a fan of religious themed movies, but having stumbled upon The Pilgrimage and despite being skeptical, after watching all the trailers, it's been bumped up my TBW list. Not exactly a horror, but in considering this is a film basically about a bloodthirsty relic believed to be the wrath of Christ, I think it fits with our list! Based in In the 13th century, Irish monks embark on a reluctant pilgrimage to escort their monastery's holiest relic to Rome. Their mission soon becomes fraught with danger as they trek across a rugged landscape that's been ravaged by years of tribal warfare. Now, to the good stuff... The film surprising looks like it might have the fighty aspects of the likes of Vikings and The Last Kingdom, and stars Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Richard Armitage to name a few familiar faces. Now, Tom Holland only says a few words in the trailer so I reserve judgement on his Irish accent and my boy Jonny Bernthal is playing The Mute so he defo gets a pass! To conclude, I'm gonna be defo checking this out ASAP and I will leave you with my fave snippet from one of the trailers that made me chuckle in a very anti-Catholic way as it pans to a half naked Jon covered in bloods and carrying the holy relic. "Christ rejoices with everyone he destroys." Melanie Says - Hmmmmmm OK so it's free to watch right now, has some pretty big names I like, and there's a bloodthirsty relic? You convinced me - it's going on my to watch list! Streaming Availability - Available To Watch Free With TUBI At The Time Of Posting CLICK HERE Have you seen it? What did you think? Day 5 - Bad Samaritan (2018)Melanie Says - Oooh David Tennant as a bad guy. Everyone knows that would make it an automatic must watch for me even if it wasn't a great movie. Leaning more into dark, psychological thriller with just a bit of horror thrown in, the possible reality of the situation, I think, makes it better. Valets (including Robert Sheehan - who until I just rewatched the trailer I had forgotten about as I wasn't a huge fan until Love/Hate) have a great scam going, or so they think. Rich guy comes to the restaurant, then while he's in there eating, one of them takes the car back to the house and steals stuff. All well and good until the guy you are stealing from does things FAR worse than stealing .... and has the money to get away with it. To be honest, I would have watched this regardless of what anyone said, but it was really well done. With twists and unexpected turns that even I didn't figure them all out. If you like psychological thrillers, and you are not one of those weird people that only like to see David Tennant as The Doctor (seriously 90% of his roles skew darker in a lot of cases - and he does them brilliantly), then you should add this to your list! Day 3 - Bitch Slap (2009)Melanie Says - This is one of the movies we picked up with no info other than the name when Blockbuster near us was closing down. Greg and I are suckers for the weird and quirky and couldn't resist the title. If you think the title seems ridiculous and gratuitous you'd be right. Full of blood, half naked women, and a very loosely held together plotline, this has been referred to as a movie like the sexploitation movies of the late 60s and early 70s. Firmly set in the very low B movies, maybe even lower, but for whatever reason it immediately struck me that it should be on this list- so here it is! Streaming Availability - Sadly (or not so sadly) this doesn't seem to be streaming free anywhere. In fact the only place I could find it was to rent was on Apple TV HERE (That might be a sign to skip it lol) Have you seen it? What did you think? Will you be watching it?

Day 3 - Dog Soldiers (2002)Susan Says - Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you all will know how much I love this movie. Dog Soldiers is a 2002 British horror film written that starred Kevin McKidd, Sean Pertwee and Liam Cunningham. Set in the highlands of Scotland (Though filmed in Norway), the story is about a group of British soldiers who are stranded on a training exercise and come face to face with monsters. Dog Soldiers is gory in a comical way, but you'd have to watch it to see what I mean. You can tell they used most of the budget on the werewolves. There is a lot of very British and Scottish humour that makes you laugh out loud. It's defo worth a watch just to see some of the actors in it before they were uber famous. Despite what Mel says, Dog Soldiers is an great movie...far better than her dancing jeans BS! LOL Melanie Says - You know how sometimes a movie is so bad it's actually good? This is NOT one of those lol. Let me just say for the record - NO WAY YOU CAN TAPE THOSE INTESTINES BACK IN LIKE THAT!!!! Susan loves it though probably because it is the werewolf equivalent of True Bloodthirst - which is also so bad but I think it's great because vampires. Watch for that popping up later on the list too (although watch with Mel fans will already have seen it). Also - the dancing jeans would TOTALLY have made the list if it hadn't been covered already. That movie is CLASS! Streaming Availability - Available To Watch Free With TUBI At The Time Of Posting CLICK HERE Have you seen it? What did you think? Will you be watching it?

Day 2 - Devour (2005)Melanie Says - We discovered this movie when Emily was going through her Jenson Ackles phase and it is actually, surprisingly good. What starts as a typical teens playing a game that goes wrong, actually progresses into a pretty dark movie, one in which Jenson is definitely not Dean Winchester lol. I do love a movie that has an unexpected twist, and this has just that. If you haven't seen it, whether you are a Supernatural fan or not, it is worth adding to your horror movie list! Susan Says - You had me at Jensen Ackles LOL defo gonna add this to my TBR list! Streaming Availability - Available To Watch Free on Tubi at the time of posting. Click HERE! Have you seen it? Day 1 - Sleepwalkers (1992)Melanie Says - Most people associate Brian Krause with Charmed - which is fair - but although he was great as Leo, to me he will always be the guy from Sleepwalkers. This movie, adapted from a Stephen King story (and featuring a cameo from the author as he so likes to do), has a very different take than your average "High School Horror". In fact in this movie, you spend more time with the "villains" than the "good guys" and there are some twists along the way that they definitely wouldn't be allowed to get away with now - which of course for me makes it even better. Other than Brian there are LOTS of people you will recognize I'm sure .... including Alice Krige, Mädchen Amick, and Ron Perlman. This is definitely one of the more underrated Stephen King movies in my opinion plus there are lots of cats! I mean who doesn't like cats? Not to mention I can't hear the song from the trailer without instantly thinking about this!
