Remakes were always a thing, even going back to the early days of movies. They’d remake a silent movie when talkies came out, etc. But the further we go, the more they remake. In todays world DVDs, Blu Rays, and five billion streaming channels, we feel there is less and less need for them. Most of them are pretty easy to find if you are interested in watching them. But Hollywood insists on rebranding and making a new version, trying to improve upon the original. “Psycho”? You can’t improve it. You can’t change it. You made the same movie again. Why? They are useless. Occasionally they get it right. Not all of these are winners though. Its a mixed bag. Some good, some bad, some just out of the box. Day 26- Walker Texas Ranger (1983) / Walker (2021) - Jenn The eyes of a ranger are upon you, that’s the opener to a very well loved and popular show called Walker Texas Ranger, so when I heard that The CW was doing a remake I thought alright I’ll give it a try, and boy did I give it a try but after awhile like with most CW shows I just lost interest. Not only that it’s nothing like it’s predecessor, nothing at all, well maybe except for the name Walker and that he’s a ranger. I don’t know, sometimes with all these remakes they do I just feel like it’s because they’ve run out of original ideas. So for me it’s a pass on the remake. I’ll just go watch some reruns of the original Melanie Says - My dad absolutely loved the original. He used to watch the reruns all the time. Greg and I watched the first few episodes of the remake, but it just didn't work for us. I often wonder what my Dad would have thought - my bet would be he would head on back to the reruns too. Have you seen it? What did you think? Original, Remake, or Neither? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
