Remakes were always a thing, even going back to the early days of movies. They’d remake a silent movie when talkies came out, etc. But the further we go, the more they remake. In todays world DVDs, Blu Rays, and five billion streaming channels, we feel there is less and less need for them. Most of them are pretty easy to find if you are interested in watching them. But Hollywood insists on rebranding and making a new version, trying to improve upon the original. “Psycho”? You can’t improve it. You can’t change it. You made the same movie again. Why? They are useless. Occasionally they get it right. Not all of these are winners though. Its a mixed bag. Some good, some bad, some just out of the box. Day 20 - A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) / (2010) - Dave Most of my problems with this one isn't even about the plot. Change a few things up so you aren't making the same movie over again, in this case involves going back to the original idea for the original film. Throw in a few references to the classic. Ok, works for me. But then you screw up the blu-ray release. You have deleted scenes, a completely changed opening kill scene that they reference later on, which now makes no sense and don't even have it ln the bonus features. Fail! Melanie Says - One Two Freddy's coming for you ....... I mean you HAVE to give this one to the original PLUS it has Johnny Depp which means automatic winner for me lol. Seriously thought we watched the remake and it was just meh. I think these movies lose a lot when you throw in the modern techniques and they didn't really have anything new to add so they should have just left it alone. Have you seen it? What did you think? Original, Remake, or Neither? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
