 Can you believe this is the 4th year of 31 Days of Halloween? This year I am taking the reins with some help from Susan Harris. Things might look a little different but I guarantee one thing - Lots of "different" Halloween options! Day 18 - Blood The Last Vampire (2009)Susan Says - Blood: The Last Vampire, is the live action version of the anime of the same name. The story centers around Saya is a 400-year-old half human-half vampire who hunts vampires. Saya was raised by a man named Kato, she works loosely with an organization known as "The Council", a secret society that has been hunting vampires for centuries. (Cough, Cough...sound familiar folks?) Saya's motivation goes beyond duty; she wants revenge: Onigen, the oldest of the vampires, murdered her father.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie, the martial arts and the almost noir-esque feel to the entire movie. It got unfairly mixed reviews because it kept being compared to the anime but if you are looking for something different watch, then you really should check out Blood :The Last Vampire! (Additional note: I've just realized that there are a lot of movies on this list by me that star Liam Cunningham, but since he's Irish, I have to offer my support) Melanie Says - I had heard of the anime one but not the live action. I am amused by the fact that Liam Cunningham is in most of your movies and it wasn't deliberate. If this pops up free anywhere I might check it out.
