Welcome to the 31 Days Of Halloween Movies! Every day throughout October Dave Christy (with occassional comment from Melanie) will present a horror movie every day complete with a trailer!

Day 1 - Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Dave Says -

 Joss Whedon penned this with Drew Goddard. Excellent blend of horror and humor, playing on the common horror tropes. Fangoria had an end of year poll asking for the best horror movie and a lot of people were naming this flick. They also asked what the worst horror movie was and a lot of people were naming this movie. It’s definitely middle of the road for some. You either get it or you don’t. And I think some people didn’t get it. The reasons some gave for not liking it was the trailer didn’t show what the movie was really. Do these people understand what a twist is? You can’t have everything spelled out for you and served on a silver platter, a silver splatter, if you will. I was discussing the movie with star Amy Acker at Keystone Comic Con and actually mentioned something she hadn’t heard. Joss said he wanted the beginning of the movie to make people wonder if they went into the correct theater, and that’s exactly what I did. But then I saw Amy on screen, I knew I was in the right one.
