Welcome to February's 28 Days Of Sequels! Every day throughout February one of our VIPers (Dave, Jenn, Or Melanie) with occasional comments from the others will present a movie sequel complete with a trailer!
The big different with this list is they aren't all winners that we loved. Some were disappointments and some just trainwrecks. Hollywood is short on original ideas so when one hits big, they milk it for all its worth and squeeze it dry. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Day 14 - Zombieland 2 (Mel)
This one is a little weird for me. I don't remember watching the first one AT ALL. Greg assures me I did, but even when I watched this sequel, nothing really seemed familiar. I knew the basis premise, and the Twinkie thing, and the Double Tap thing, but the rest? Nope. That being said I really enjoyed this one. It seems that they did pretty much everything right. It has a lot of comedy in it, and should definitely be viewed with that in mind, but whether you have seen the first one or not if you like that kind of genre - this is a good one.
Dave Says - I was a little hesitant about this one but it turned out good. They waited long enough and didn't rush a story and script to hit it while it was hot. They made sure they had it right.
Jenn Says - Now I’m not usually one that enjoys anything to do with zombies but "Zombieland" is a different story. But now I’m talking "Zombieland 2", which was worth the wait. It was hilarious, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It expanded on the first, without getting stupid or losing its story. I highly suggest if you liked "Zombieland" and you haven’t seen the sequel, then you check it out immediately.
Have you seen it? What did you think?
