Jenn - Jennifer Rhodes met Melanie back when True Blood was popular and they have been friends ever since. She loves TV (especially things that make you smile), Doctor Who, Finding new shows, and regularly provides awesome fandom items for Muser Giveaways. Jennifer is now a proud member of the VIPers - the Melanie's Muses Spotlight Feature Team!Musers, do you want to play a game? Usually when you hear that you think -- oh yes please, especially if you’re a muser but this game with this movie is one I’m sure no one would like to play. Kind of like the movie "Escape Room", but not talking about that, instead this article is about the movies of "Saw". Eight movies then one reboot which I still haven’t seen. The first one I saw with Chris on Halloween, actually that was tradition for a while because it felt like they had a new "Saw" movie come out each year. But then they just got repetitive especially after Jigsaw was no longer there. Well I’m sure you’ve seen these movies but if not basically guy takes people who are taking there lives for granted and puts them in horrifying situations that could possibly kill them if they don’t win the game. The first movie had a twist I honestly didn’t see coming but the others I figured out with no problem, and yes you eventually find out who Jigsaw is and why’s he’s doing what he’s doing. Does he get caught, well not exactly but that’s all I’ll say, so if you haven’t seen these movies then I suggest you do. Hey, if I like a scary thriller and I usually hate them, it can’t be all bad. Right? Dave - Dave Christy loves horror, music, documentaries and more. He is also the co-runner of several fan based groups including Morningstars (THE Lucifer fan group also run by Melanie), and now is a member of the VIPers Spotlight Lounge team for Melanie's Muses. Other than "In The Spotlight" Features -check out his "31 Days Of Halloween Movies"A movie studio with a plan. Release a horror movie every year around Halloween. It was working well and then the first "Saw" movie happened. It was a surprise hit so then for the next 6 years that followed, it was a new "Saw" movie for a total of 7 films in the original run. A couple things that separate "Saw" movies from the typical horror film. 1. The layers. I was late to the game watching these. I didn't start until after the 4th one. I thought it was just people getting tortured and was not interested. But as my niece was watching the first one I saw more pieces of the story. A police investigation, layers unwrapped as we get deeper in the series, the twists. Yes, the twists! I love a good twist. After the first one, you come to expect it. But they could come in ways you don't expect. 2. Jigsaw. He doesn't actually kill. He wants people to figure a way out. Yes he puts them in that situation but these aren't aren't exactly nice, innocent people anyway. For example, one trap has several people in it and they end up sacrificing each other along the way. Not very nice. At the end, the survivor realizes, they were all supposed to work together. A little late for that, honey. Jigsaw isn't like Freddy or Jason. Nothing supernatural about him. No impossible return from the dead. When he dies, he's dead. He has helpers though. 3. Fun fact-- "Saw II" wasn't originally another installment. Darren Lynn Bousman had a script for a movie he wrote "The Desperate" that found its way into the right hands. The original "Saw" writers weren't able to deliver a sequel so this script was adapted and a few changes were made to make into a "Saw" movie. After a 7 year hiatus, the "Saw" franchise returned with "Jigsaw" in 2017 playing into the familiar traps and twists we were used to. And 4 years later, in 2021 the Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson led "Spiral: From the Book of Saw" was released. At first I wasn't sure what to think. But they kept the heart of the movies and continued the story with someone copying Jigsaw's style. Melanie - I have to say I am not a lover of this Franchise .... I watched the first movie, and the most recent Spiral but they are not for me. Pineapple code word for this article is Jigsaw Trailers for the original movie - and for Spiral
