Melanie - Founder of Melanie's Muses - You should know who I am lol If not click - All about Melanie!Do you remember we used to feature music quite regularly? Well we are bringing it back - and that would be the "Royal We" as itis in fact ALLLLL Susan! Every week she will be sharing what's new, what we should be checking out, and then it would be a feature here without a little throwback. So sit back - and get ready to jam .... and be sure to let is know what you think! Susan - Susan Harris is a writer from Cork, Ireland and when she’s not torturing her readers with heart-wrenching plot twists or killer cliffhangers, she’s probably getting some new book related ink, binging her latest TV or music obsession, or with her nose in a book. She is a proud founding Member of the Muser VIPers and is responsible for Melanie not breaking the Website on an almost daily basis! |
Ryan Sheridan - TimeI have been a fan of Ryan's music and his voice, so was delighted to find out that he was releasing new music. I met him once, many, many years ago at a fan meet and greet and he is genuinely one of the nicest people you could meet. Time is a steering wheel tapping, windows down kinda song that will get your shoulders moving and maybe giving a one finger salute if you've had a bad day! If you haven't listened to any of Ryan's music before, then and stream all his songs now!
Dermot Kennedy - SundayIf you've ever listened to any of my book playlists, then you know I adore Dermot and his voice. Sunday is a song that showcases his voice with brutally honest lyrics about a love lost, and the regret, as well as the wish to go back and relive the good times. An honest, raw, song that only showcases just how talented Dermot is by a performance with just a piano and his wonderful, wonderful voice.
The Neon Cars - Sitting in the BackseatOf course I had to throw a Cork band into the mix! The Neon Cars is definitely a band to watch and I think they will have a great career ahead of them. I don't think I've heard a bad song from them since I first heard them on the radio...
Pa Sheehy - WretchedAnother incredible artist and voice, Pa Sheehy has a voice that is instantly recognizable. A friend of mine showed me some videos of a performance that Pa did in a church and it was WOW! I loved Pa when he was part of the band Walking on Cars, and he's on my list of artists I'd love to see live.
Gavin James - White NoiseWell, the last of my Irish list this week is Gavin James! I really like this catchy boppy song that will have you singing along in the car and tapping the steering wheel...or your feet depending on where you hear it!
Jazzy - StardustThis was the first time I'd heard of Jazzy and it reminded me of an old school floorfiller from the 90's and 00's.
Dead Poet Society - How Could I Love You? Right, let's finish with a rockier song! I've loved a lot of songs that Dead Poet Society have done and this one has already been added to my writing playlists! I have an angsty Rebel County book coming in 2024 and this song is the perfect one for a certain character that you've met briefly in Secrets in Ink
Throwback Track
If you asked me what song made me fall in love with songs that took a classical song and melded it with other genres, then this song is it...It was also a staple of dance music in the 90's.
