Melanie - Founder of Melanie's Muses - You should know who I am lol If not click - All about Melanie!Do you remember we used to feature music quite regularly? Well we are bringing it back - and that would be the "Royal We" as itis in fact ALLLLL Susan! Every week she will be sharing what's new, what we should be checking out, and then it would be a feature here without a little throwback. So sit back - and get ready to jam .... and be sure to let is know what you think! Susan - Susan Harris is a writer from Cork, Ireland and when she’s not torturing her readers with heart-wrenching plot twists or killer cliffhangers, she’s probably getting some new book related ink, binging her latest TV or music obsession, or with her nose in a book. She is a proud founding Member of the Muser VIPers and is responsible for Melanie not breaking the Website on an almost daily basis! |
Måneskin - Honey(Are Coming?)Everyone who's been paying attention knows that me and Mel love a bit of Måneskin. I wanna be your slave is our go to song and I think we like it more cause Greg HATES it! Honey (Are U Coming?) has the same catchy qualities of I Wanna be your slave and is full of cheeky and fun lyrics - defo worth checking out and having a bop to.
Ruelle - Mind SpinI've always been a fan of Ruelle and her voice, and Mind Spin begins in a haunting tone before it kicks in. I always think of how cinematic all her songs sound, and there is no surprise how many songs have featured in TV Shows.
Alesso & John Newman (Andromedik remix) Call Your NameI'm currently preparing to write the last book in the Rebel Books series, and Sorcha is found of a boppy track. This song is defo a night out on the dancefloor track or a nod your head in the car kinda song, and I love John Newman's voice.
Gunship ft Lights - Empress of the DamnedWhen I first saw the name of the song and listened to it, I immediately thought of Mel. I mean it totally fits her, right? I like the mix of ominous sounding music, and the dancy undertones. It's defo a song I could see give her song inspiration for a cosplay. And the sudden saxophone that should not sound like it works but it totally does!
Unsecret Quartet - VampireUnsecret are a group that I have followed for their reworks of songs and original tracks for a long time. Cinematic songs is one way to describe them and I have used a fair few songs in cover reveals and book quotes. I was delighted when I found that they had a sort of spin off group that specializes in classic twists on popular songs. I love this version of Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo, far better than the original one!
Joel Corry - Hey DJI'm fully convinced that Joel Corry is the reverse version of Michael Bublé... when Bublé goes into hibernation for summer, Joel comes out with his summer soundtracks. If anyone has read More Than Words, they know I give poor Joel a bit of stick...but in all fairness this track reminds me a little of 90's dance tracks and its another song from Sorcha's playlist. This song is one that will definitely make you wanna go out and hit the dancefloor.
League of Legends ft New Jeans - GodsThis song is taking from League of Legends, which has some really amazing songs. I've gotten a few songs over the years from their playlists. New Jeans (No, Mel not your dancing jeans) is a South Korean girl group that I hadn't heard of before, but I like the sound of their voices, so defo gonna check out some of their songs to see if I can tolerate the popness. Melanie - My dancing jeans are awesome - you need to add some Bollywood in your life lmao.
Wargasm Ft Fred Durst - Bang ya HeadListen, the song had me at Fred Durst, but Bang Ya Head is a hard-hitting electro rock song. it's one of those songs that deserves to be on angry playlist! Probably not a band you guys would have heard of since Wargasm are UK based back, but they have some great songs so you should check them out.
Dance with Me - Blink 182
That opening line of the song OMFG This is my song of the week! I love this so much. it's got that feel good factor that reminds me their early songs and the video is hilarious. Plus any song that includes the a whole chorus for us to sing Olé, olé, olé, olé is defo gonna be a crowd pleaser.
Throwback Track
This weeks throwback track is one of my Noughties fave dance tracks! Not sure if it was big in the US, but this was a staple of the dancefloor when I was young and could tolerate dancefloors LOL
