If you've been reading our Must Read Authors features that have been posted throughout June, then you already know I'm a massive Ilona Andrews fan and the Kate Daniel's world.
Now For The Review Standalone or series? Part of the Kate Daniels World - Needs to be read in order!!!! How did I get this book? Sent by publisher to Mel as we've read and reviewed The Hidden Legacy series before. Why did I choose to read this book: See opening paragraph! LOL Genre Urban Fantasy And Now To The Review! First Impressions: It was so easy to slip back into the Kate Daniels world, and I was absorbed in the story from the moment I turned the first page - or at least flipped the kindle book! General Review Magic Claims picks up shortly after the end of book 1, taking us back into Kate and Curran during their Wilmington years. I loved jumping back into this world, in a new location, but the same problems as Kate and Curran, and now Conlan, seem to draw to them no matter how normal they would like life to be. But when you are the daughter of God and your husband was the Beast Lord of the pack, normal isn't quite on the table, is it? There are a lot of things that Kate comes to realize in this book, vital things, and it sets the series wide open for interaction with old friends...and family that has been distant - BUT no spoilers so let's just say that I'd expect a crossover or two in the next book...whenever that might come out. One of my fave things is the interactions between Curran and Conlan, and Kate and Conlan, and how they both have vital roles to play in Conlan's story. Final Thoughts A must-read for fans of the series, or new readers once they've gotten caught up. Rating: An easy 5 stars from me! As always let me know what you think in the comments!
