In the history of Hollywood, or when it comes to aliens it may be more correct to refer to the informal name of Hollyweird, there have been a long tradition of aliens visiting Earth in one form or another.
Examples of this include E.T., Mac and Me, Close Encounters, even horror movies such as Critters. I was never big on shows or movies revolving around aliens, but then this movie changed my mind. It’s funny and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Yes, I’m talking about "Paul".
When I first saw it I wasn’t expecting too much, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Now I thought "E.T." Was OK but nothing special, (Melanie here – I have never actually watched E.T. lol – and I don’t really plan too!), this movie, on the other hand, changed my mind. "Paul" is about two nerds from England that come on holiday to America to go to Comic Con and then all the different alien or supposed alien sights. Never did they imagine that they’d actually meet one, let alone that his name would be Paul.
After meeting Paul, these two end up on the ride of their lives, way beyond their wildest dreams! (Melanie again – the 2 concerned are played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost – so that pretty much says it all. I mean who doesn’t love them?!?!?!)
If you’ve already seen Paul (and if you haven’t, you really should, may I suggest checking out the new show "Resident Alien" (Dave and Melanie agree) on Syfy. Trust me, you won’t stop laughing and like "Paul", it’s also a joy to watch. (Melanie – 100% yes on Resident Alien! Greg and I are loving it! Alan Tudyk is fantastic – Chung Chung – Trailer below)
