Welcome to February's 28 Days Of Sequels! Every day throughout February one of our VIPers (Jenn, Susan Or Melanie) with occasional comments from the others will present a movie sequel complete with a trailer! The big difference with this list is they aren't all winners that we loved. Some were disappointments and some just trainwrecks. Hollywood is short on original ideas so when one hits big, they milk it for all its worth and squeeze it dry. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Day 3 - Shock Treatment (1981) - MelI am pretty sure that everyone reading this will have heard of a little cult movie called The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Although when it was made I don't think anyone could have anticipated the movie and even more so the interactive performances still being a thing almost 50 years later! Which brings us to today's movie Shock Treatment. There are two groups of people (well at least among the few that have heard about it), those that think it is a little slither of genius. and those that pretend it doesn't exist. For the most part, except for when I want to drag up weird things for articles I sit in the second camp. The movie, although not an official sequel, features many of the cast, a lot of the same campy weird ideas, but none of the magic that made RHPS the wonder that it is. It follows Brad and Janet Majors, but all the other main cast play other characters, and the nail in the proverbial coffin is definitely the lack of Tim Curry. I will confess we own the DVD, but more because I feel it is something we should have, rather than because we will probably ever watch it again.
