The only one I didn’t really enjoy was basically the last one. My favorites being one thru six. They were a comedy staple for 10 years from 1984-1994. In the first movie you see a bunch of rag tag people joining up with the police academy, and you know the higher ups are definitely not on board, until they prove that they might actually turn out to be some of the best cops around. Even though you see the other characters a lot it follows mostly cadet Mahoney and his antics , most of which are aimed at the incompetents helping a rival captain in order to get thrown out. As it goes he realizes maybe he just wants to stay. The other movies follow this group on more adventures like in “Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment”. They hit the streets to help out a real police captain and his precinct deal with a bunch of thugs. The series tones down the sex as they go on. Starting out rated R and hits PG soon after. If you have not seen these movies then I highly suggest remedying that as soon as possible especially if you’re in the mood to laugh.
